The model, singer, and actress Mariya Nishiuchi has made a foray into gravure with a bikini cover shoot for the current issue of Weekly Playboy, which went on sale in Japan on Monday.
As the weather turns well and truly wintry here in Tokyo, it may seem a peculiar choice to have Mariya in a sexy bikini and emerging from the sea, her body dripping. (Where and when did they do the shoot? Given the travel restrictions, surely somewhere in Japan, but it’s chilly even down south in Okinawa right now, so it must have been a few weeks ago.) Still, it’s got us dreaming of summer — not to mention Mariya’s well-toned body.
We hope to update with more pictures later on, but another we have seen features Mariya lying on the beach, her skin covered in sand, and curling her body up with a gleeful look on her face.
The 27-year-old Nishiuchi had a recent high-profile role in the second season of the Netflix drama series The Naked Director. Despite playing a porn star and the generous amount of nudity on display by her co-stars, Nishiuchi disappointed male fans by keeping her costume on.
The Weekly Playboy shoot is, according to media reports, her sexiest to date and should go some of the way to assuage that chagrin. She is releasing her first photo book in eight years on Christmas Eve (her twenty-eight birthday). To tide us over until details of the photo book emerge, here’s a recent selfie and an older photo. Having left her agency, Rising Production, in 2018 and taken a break from the industry, Mariya seems determined in her comeback to do things differently.
